You choose what to connect

Signing in identifies your SI Companion account. Gmail, Calendar and Drive are separate connections. Each connection is optional, and Google displays the requested permissions before you grant them. SI Companion uses a connection only to perform a feature you request.

Google Limited Use

SI Companion's use of information received from Google Workspace APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to provide the user-requested features described on this page. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized AI models. We share the minimum information needed with service providers only to deliver a feature you request, as described below.

Find and work with email

The current Gmail connection requests read, compose and modify permissions. SI Companion can search and read messages you ask it to review, prepare a draft, and propose supported changes such as archive, Trash, flag, or read status. A draft is shown for review. Sending or changing a message requires your explicit confirmation in the app.

Gmail data is used to answer your request and prepare the action you review. The app does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. Message content needed for AI responses may be sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI says API data is not used to train models by default; its standard abuse-monitoring logs may retain content for up to 30 days, subject to exceptions and the project's actual controls. SI Companion does not claim zero provider retention.

Plan with calendars you select

The current Calendar connection can list calendars, read events, check availability, and create or update events. You select which calendars are used for planning. SI Companion proposes an event and reads back the details; it only books after you confirm. Calendar information is used for the planning, availability and event features you request.

Find, read and edit selected documents

The current Drive connection can read file metadata to find documents and access Google Docs content to read or prepare an edit. SI Companion shows proposed document changes for your review before applying them. Document content needed to fulfill your request may be sent to OpenAI's API for processing.

Account data and deletion

Google OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted before being stored by the service. The service also stores account-linked items such as requested chat history, explicit saved memories, tasks, action proposals and receipts, selected calendar preferences, and voice-session metadata. General-purpose voice sessions can store user and assistant transcript turns; temporary voice sessions are not saved as transcripts.

Chat history retention can be set to keep it until you delete it or to automatically remove it after 30, 90 or 365 days. Expiring saved memories are removed by scheduled cleanup. Deleting the SI Companion account removes account-linked records in the service through the account deletion endpoint. Deleting this account does not delete your original Gmail, Calendar, Drive or Docs records. You can also revoke SI Companion in your Google Account's third-party connections. Provider backups and logs may have separate retention periods, which are not controlled by the app's chat-retention setting.

Contacts, Health, location and unlock

Contacts: SI Companion uses Apple's one-person contact picker. It does not upload or sync your address book. Only details you select are sent if you add them to a chat draft or ask for directions. Chat content goes to SI Companion and may go to OpenAI to answer your request; a route destination is sent to map and routing services when you ask for a route.

Apple Health: My Health readings remain on your iPhone. If you explicitly request a daily briefing, yesterday's active energy, exercise minutes and sleep duration are sent to SI Companion and OpenAI to prepare the briefing. Those three values are saved with the briefing for up to 24 hours. SI Companion reads HealthKit data and does not write it.

Location: your device location is used when you choose Use my location for a route. Route searches may send the origin and destination to map, geocoding and routing providers. Face ID: is handled by iOS to unlock the app; biometric templates and measurements are not sent to SI Companion.
